A participatory workshop for political activists designed to stimulate discussion about the challenges of being an activist since the 2016 election. Using an expanded definition, there are at least three types of activists:

  1. Those who are actively involved in organized political events;

  2. Those who are speaking out in their community with family and friends; and

  3. “Armchair activists” watching the news, yelling at TV news and not yet involved in organized resistance.

       Regardless of how involved you are in organized activism, participants will 1) share personal challenges that have arisen during the traumatic daily carpet bombing of our progressive values,2) learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of burnout, 3) develop strategies to stay in the struggle without losing their sanity, and 4) practice relaxation techniques to help stay focused and reduce tension. Here are tools to navigate your way through the challenges ahead.
